Innocent Kawoya declares intentions for Kampala Mayor seat, roots for digital transformation.

Innocent Kawooya a Ugandan FinTech and financial inclusion expert, computer programmer, Internet entrepreneur, film producer and entertainment executive has officially announced his intentions to contest for the seat of Kampala Mayor 2021-2026.
With 17 years of leadership in big projects in the digital evolution of Uganda, and Africa including digital innovations, financial inclusion, brand projects like the famous HiPipo Awards, outreach projects like Hackathon among others, he highlighted that he sees a brighter future with endless possibilities when elected as Mayor Kampala who will take on Kampala city with a non-partisan, productive, development, and open minded leadership.
Kawoya says he intends to lead a digitally transformed city where every one will have access to markets using the available technology for business growth. He emphasized the need to focus on development of the city away from constant politicking.

Innocent a former computing/ICT tutorial assistant at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Makerere University is a former student of Sikkim Manipal University, SMACON (2007), SHACK (2005), Molly and Paul Primary School (2001) and Victoria Nursery School.
From 2009 to 2013, Innocent co-conceptualized and co-developed mHealth (MyDoctor) and e-Learning (AfroExaminer.com), projects that received international recognition and from IndiAfrica, the Orange Africa Challenge and ITU Innovation Excellence.
He spearheaded the launch of recognised brands and projects including, the HiPipo Music Awards, The Digital Impact Awards Africa celebrated for spearheading awareness, innovation and research on digital and financial inclusion.
